Gerald Gorn

Gerald Gorn is Wang Seng Liang Professor of Business, The University of Hong Kong. He received his PhD from Pennslvania State University and his MSc from London School of Economics.

His research focuses on understanding and shaping consumer attitudes and behavior. He has written articles on the effects of advertising on adults, children, and seniors. Prof. Gorn’s research has been published in marketing, health, and psychology journals, including in the Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Consumer Research, Management Science, Journal of Consumer Psychology, and American Journal of Public Health. His editorial board memberships include the Journal of Consumer Research, the Journal of Consumer Psychology, and Psychology, Health and Medicine. For his Journal of Public Policy and Marketing (JPPM) article "Heightening Adolescent Vigilance Toward Alcohol Advertising to Forestall Alcohol Use" he and his co-authors received the 2007 Thomas C. Kinnear JPPM Award. This award recognizes articles that have made a significant contribution to the understanding of marketing and public policy within the past three years.
