W.E. Do Good™ provides a low-cost, human-powered machine to improve agronomic practices and impact poverty in Ethiopia and other countries that harvest the teff grain through current arduous, unsanitary and unhealthy means. The Teff Thresher is affordable, durable, portable and requires no fuel or electricity.

Second Place Winner - Grand Valley State University
Soletics’ wearable platform technology delivers superior temperature management to the body using sensors and real-time biofeedback. Soletics is developing a glove and powerband system for individuals suffering from Raynaud’s Disease. Soletics will give 1% of net revenues to the Raynaud’s Association to further research for a cure.

MISFIT Juicery makes delicious, cold-pressed juices out of fruits and vegetables that would otherwise go to waste, since 6 billion pounds of produce go unharvested or unsold every year because they are the wrong shape, size, slightly damaged or simply excess.

VitiFive delivers monthly custom vitamin supplements to customers who subscribe, plus free meal plans, free workout plans and gifts. Five percent of profits goes to charities featured on the website, as designated by customers.

UProspie, an online platform, connects prospective students (prospies) with current undergraduates to increase their exposure to campus culture and accessibility to higher education. UProspie gives prospies the opportunity to view original student content, participate in anonymous Q&A sessions, and arrange meetings with college students on campus.

Songbird Speech Solutions creates fun and engaging materials to assist children with speech disorders. The SPEAK series is a collection of stories targeting specific sounds, giving children a means to practice their speech while also promoting positive interactions between parents and children.

Peeach is an educational tech startup company offering an easy-to-use web platform where students can find and book the best tutor for their needs, matching students around the world with nearby tutors.

Honorable Mention - Northern Kentucky University
Vegy Vida is a patent-pending, bitter-blocking formula that is incorporated into an all-natural squeezable vegetable sauce that blocks the bitterness of vegetables so children will be more inclined to eat it. Vegy Vida is 14 calories per serving and comes in flavors including mac and cheese, pepperoni pizza, ranch, taco, garlic bread and bacon.

Kegg is a private, interactive database of events for college students accessed through a free app. Once verified, users gain access to events at their school and schools nearby, such as University-hosted events, Greek life, fundraisers, performances and more.

Second Place Winner - Appalachian State University
MagnaGripsTM :  The pull-weight of magnets in the fingertips creates resistance, which helps to increase motor skills and muscle memory for children with fine motor limitations in their hands.

Third Place - University of Houston
Energetik:  is a patent-pending battery for solar power systems to store energy to use throughout the night, during power outages and on poor weather days.

Honorable Mention - Texas Christian University
The Chef Shelf:  is an online retailer of specialty foods branded by chefs and restaurants, providing a venue for local chefs and restaurants to enter the competitive prepared food market.

Work of Worth:  connects indigenous entrepreneurs with the global market by purchasing their goods and selling them in the U.S. market.

KOTI:  is an affordable, lightweight, compact cube that will provide a temporary home in the wake of disasters.

Sentia:  is a gourmet carbonated Mexican water that provides jobs and allocates a percentage of sales to subsidize water purifiers for potable water for developing communities.
