Lauri CurtisLauri Curtis was named Vice President, Diversity and Leadership Strategies for American Airlines, Inc. in August 2010.  In this role, she oversees all aspects of diversity and talent management for the airline.  From July 2003 through July 2010 she held the position of American’s Vice President-Onboard Service.  Her responsibilities included leadership of American’s more than 19,000 flight attendants as well as managing the airline’s food, beverage, duty-free operations and in-flight products.    

Previously, she served as Vice President-Reservations since February 2000.  She was responsible for one of the world's largest airline reservation systems, handling more than 350,000 calls a day from reservation centers in Fort Worth, Dallas, Cincinnati, Hartford, Raleigh/Durham, Tucson, St. Louis, Norfolk, Las Vegas, and Honolulu.  Her responsibilities also included the fulfillment system for travel documentation.                

 Curtis, also, served as Vice President-Reno Air Integration, Senior Vice President-Strategic Planning and Development of AMR Global Services and as Group President of TeleService Resources and Data Management Services, two former subsidiaries of AMR. 

 Curtis began her travel industry career in 1978 when she joined American Airlines as a Flight Attendant.  She subsequently received promotions in the Personnel and Passenger Sales departments where she held a number of staff and management positions.  In 1986, Curtis moved to the technology and automation sides of AMR when she became Division Manager at the SABRE Travel Information Network (STIN). 

 Curtis returned to Dallas/Fort Worth in 1988 when she became Managing Director-Sales and Service for STIN.  Later, she served as Vice President-Sales and Service, Vice President-Operations, and Vice President-Product Development, all under the SABRE banner.  In November 1993, she was named President of AMR Information Services, a post she held until early 1995. 

 Curtis has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Colgate University.  A native of Connecticut, she resides in Fort Worth, Texas, with her husband and three children.
