A 2015 Neeley & Associates Consulting Roundup: Part III

Andrew Mozeleski, Neeley & Associates Consulting Principal
In Part III of this three-part series, Andrew Mozeleski provides insight into his experience in TCU's Neeley & Associates Consulting program, where he recently led a project for Frito-Lay.

One of the most important differentiators of TCU’s MBA program is the emphasis the Neeley School of Business places on experiential learning. Neeley & Associates Consulting is a prime example of how MBA students turn what they learn in the classroom into real-world results that can impact a company’s bottom line. In return, students gain valuable experience consulting with leading national companies, including PepsiCo, Bell Helicopter, Nike, Oncor, Sabre Holdings, Frito-Lay, Alcon, Lockheed Martin and more.

Each year, paying corporate clients hire these student teams—composed of first-year students and helmed by second-year student "principals"—to resolve some of their toughest business challenges. The benefits of Neeley & Associates Consulting are unmatched in terms of professional experience, relationship building and exposure to project management.

Some of this year’s Neeley & Associates Consulting projects are with Michaels, YMCA and Frito-Lay. Principals on each of the projects took some time to explain the scope of their work and answer questions about the Neeley & Associates experience. Here's what Andrew had to say.

Andrew Mozeleski, Principal

Tell us about the client for whom you are consulting.

Frito-Lay has “been involved in Neeley & Associates since the program's founding. Each year they approach the student consulting teams with a pressing business issue that they'd like to receive an outside opinion on. Student consultant teams analyze existing research and conduct additional research to tackle the problem.”

What has your experience with Neeley & Associates been like so far?

“Neeley & Associates has been a great learning experience. As a consultant, I received exposure to leadership at one of the world's largest CPG companies. I also learned how to conduct market research centered on consumer behavior and insights. As a principal, I am tasked with guiding my team in their pursuit of solving the current business challenge. I also maintain relationships with the client to ensure they are receiving what they need from the project.”

How will Neeley & Associates enhance your experience as an MBA student and how will it benefit you personally and professionally?

“There's no doubt as to the benefits that Neeley & Associates provides. It increases the exposure of the TCU MBA program to potential employers and provides a platform for employment and internship opportunities. It also provides real world business experience outside of a classroom setting, which has and will help me hit the ground running in whatever job I decide to take upon graduation.”

Programs like Neeley & Associates Consulting give TCU MBA students the opportunity to transform their resumes and set themselves apart from their competition. The ability to participate in a real consulting project with real consequences while still pursuing a degree better prepares students for the realities they will face upon graduation, a true benefit to any prospective employer.
