Dr. John Baum Named Executive Director of Tandy Center

Dr. John Baum has been appointed Executive Director of the Tandy Center for Executive Leadership within the Neeley School of Business at TCU.  In his new role, Dr. Baum will manage and provide academic leadership for the activities of the center.  He will also continue his role as a faculty member.

Dr. Baum joined the management department as professor of professional practice in 2006. His areas of expertise/research include personal and strategic leadership, organizational psychology, executive development and human resources management. He earned a BA and MBA from the University of North Texas, and Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin. He has won numerous teaching awards, has taught courses in 30 countries while managing the Leadership Center at Texas Instruments, and has published several articles on leadership in prestigious journals.

The Tandy Center for Executive Leadership, which houses executive education and Neeley student leadership programs, provides students and business executives with specific training and development opportunities to help them advance their professional and leadership effectiveness.  The other team members of the center include Deb Baker, Director of Executive Education; Aalia Cumber, Assistant Director of Executive Education; Dede Williams, Assistant Director of Student Leadership Programs; and Joanne Fletcher, Administrative Assistant.
