Elizabeth Plummer Receives Best Paper Award

PlummerAt the 2010 American Accounting Association Annual Meeting, Elizabeth Plummer and her co-authors received the AAA 2010 Accounting Horizons Best Paper Award for her article, “The Impact of Academic Accounting Research on Professional Practice: An Analysis by the AAA Research Impact Task Force.” Dr. Plummer is Associate Professor of Accounting at the Neeley School of Business at TCU.  

The American Accounting Association bestowed the honor on Dr, Plummer and her co-authors,  Professors Moehrle, Anderson, Ayres, Bolt-Lee, Debreceny, Dugan, Hogan, and Maher, whose research and paper found that academic accounting research has had a significant effect on all areas of practice.  

“We in the Neeley accounting department are proud of Dr. Plummer’s most recent accolades,” said Ray Pfeiffer, chair of the accounting department at the Neeley School.   “This award is further evidence of Dr. Plummer’s continuing contributions to creating and disseminating knowledge that is relevant to the practice of accounting.”   

The American Accounting Association is the largest community of accountants in academia, with a history built on leading-edge research and publications.
