Graduates Celebrate at Hooding Ceremony

On December 16, graduates received their Masters degrees with pride at the Neeley School of Business hooding ceremony, presided over by Dean Daniel Short. 

Three graduates received the first MBA/Ed.D. dual degrees from the Neeley School and the School of Education, a program available at only a few universities in the U.S. Jim Bowen, Alison Tanner and Jessica Tyler received their hoods from Dr. Bill Cron, Neeley's associate dean of graduate programs, and Dr. Mike Sacken of the School of Education. The dual MBA/Ed.D. degree prepares students to assume leadership positions in a variety of education-related organizations by applying managerial skills and educational leadership.

 Six graduates received the Master of Accounting degree and were hooded by Dr. Robert Vigiland, chair of the accounting department, as Dr. Barry Bryan, director of the MAc program, called their names. Graduates were: Sonny Ahluwalia, Ashley Davis, Brooke Laskey, Elena Nemchenko, Jennifer Otwell and Jennifer Palmer. Elena Nemchenko was honored as a Neeley Scholar for having the highest GPA. 

Graduates from the Professional MBA program were hooded by Dr. Cron as Linda Smith, director of graduate program administration, called their names. Graduates were: Christine Almaraz, Dane Bear II, Sam Beaufait, Chuck Bouligny, Tim Burge, Sarah Cooper, Brad Cormack, Dustin Deal, Jason Dority, Stephanie Doster, Leigh Ann Ellis, Chad Gage, Robert Gannon, Fabio Goncalves, Randy Harvell, Paul Houdashell, Dennis Jackson II, Anthony Johnson, Stephanie Kamber, Carl Krogness, Brian Mahavier, Doan Mai,
Troy Marsden, Mauricio Mayer, Megan McConnell, Jonathon Medina,
Angela Miller, Anthony Newsome, Tom Oley, Stephen O'Neil, Rodney Parker,
Troy Perkins, Ahalya Prasad, Mike Roberts, Brian Roop, Dana Schnoor,
Blair Swing, Corin Thomas, Hung Truong, David Turnock, Rajesh Vattakunnel,
Sarah Webb and Coby White.  

PMBA Neeley Scholars honored for their high GPAs were Cory Thomas (#1),
Carl Krogness, Stephen O'Neil and Sarah Webb.

A reception followed the ceremony in the atrium of Smith Hall.
