Marketing Students Kick Off Five-Day High Caliber Road Trip

Three marketing students from the Neeley School of Business began a five-day road trip Monday, June 5, from the Metroplex to Miami, competing against a team from Boston College and one from Northwestern University. Team Dallas is made up of TCU business students Natalie Yerkovich, Ashley Foland and Katherine Dell.

The team will stop in Houston, Mobile, Ala., and Orlando, Fla. along the five-day charity road trip to generate awareness for Global Music Project and raise funds for Doctors Without Borders. The students also will give away wireless ear bids and other prizes.

The kick-off event was held in front of Tandy and Smith Halls on the TCU campus. Senior Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs Bill Moncrief wished the young women a safe and successful journey. TCU football coach Gary Patterson cheered them on their way by telling them he spells success "W-I-N."

Natalie graduated from TCU in May with a marketing degree and plans to begin working at a non-profit marketing agency in her hometown of Austin, Texas, this fall. Natalie's wealth of experience will come in handy in her role as Team Captain.

Ashley, from Keller, Texas, also graduated with a marketing degree in May and plans to attend the Art Institute of Dallas to study interior design.

Katherine is seeking a degree in promotions and advertising. "I think this will give me great experience with promotions and allow me to use my creativity," said the Hannibal, Mo. native, whose father is studying for his Executive MBA at the Neeley School.

Natalie, Ashley and Katherine will drive the new Dodge Caliber, which is full of road trip-friendly features like the MusicGate Power™ lift-gate speakers, Chill Zone cooled beverage storage bin and unique flip pocket for storing a cell phone or an MP3 player. In addition, the students can put their marketing skills to the test in the real world on an all-expense paid road trip with the chance to win a 24-month lease on a Dodge Caliber.
