FORT WORTH, Texas (November 16, 2005) - Students from the Neeley School of Business MBA program recently returned from a visit to New York City, where they met with representatives from some of the top companies in the New York area. The Graduate Career Service Center (GCSC) coordinated the trip, which allowed MBAs in the Neeley School's Educational Investment Fund program to interact with alumni and discuss the job market with potential employers.

Hosted by Fidelity Investments, the students visited the floor of New York Stock Exchange and had lunch in the Exchange Club. They also visited Bloomberg, Goldman Sachs, Alliance Bernstein, BlackRock, and Lord Abbett & Co., speaking with corporate representatives and touring facilities. "The trip was a rewarding experience for those of us who plan to go into investments," says Alua Nurkeyeva, a finance MBA candidate. "What could be a better preparation for an interview than three full days of meetings with investment bankers, financial analysts, and brokers? The exposure to different companies has definitely helped us to refine our career goals and better understand job expectations."

"We put a lot of emphasis on getting our students face-to-face with top employers" says Shirley Rasberry, Director of the GCSC. "For students, there's nothing that can replace the experience of seeing a firm's corporate culture first-hand. This also gives the employer the opportunity to share quite a bit about their company and learn about potential employees on a personal level."
