New Land Management Certification Initiative

TCU is uniquely positioned to leverage the power of the Barnett Shale to provide the new Energy Institute, collaboration between the Neeley School of Business and the College of Science and Engineering. This fall, Neeley will drive innovation in the land management profession by offering an extended educational initiative for people interested in the rapidly growing profession.

The Petroleum Land Professional certificate will cover vital fundamentals of the energy industry and provide structured insight into property law, contract law, oil and gas leases, land titles, energy regulations and more. The course will teach people to identify resources, solve important challenges, build collaboration and negotiate mutual wins.

While the certification does not confer a degree, it gives those interested in land management significant exposure to business concepts that will prove invaluable to their professional aspirations.

The new Energy Institute is in keeping with Neeley's culture of collaboration to leverage talents and provide a forum that turns groundbreaking opportunities into sound business principles. The Petroleum Land Professional certificate will be provided through the Tandy Center for Executive Leadership, which is well known in the business community for providing structured insights that propel professionals toward their goals. Clients include TTI, BNSF Railway, XTO and Ben E Keith.

For those interested in taking the certificate program, please contact Dr. Christine Riordan, Associate Dean for External Relations, 817-257-7122, or c.riordan@tcu.edu .
