Travelocity CEO Michele Peluso to Speak at Executive Speaker Series

Michelle Peluso, president and CEO of Travelocity, will be the featured speaker at the Neeley School of Business' Charles Tandy Executive Speaker Series on Tuesday, February 7, 2006. The breakfast event takes place 7-8:30 a.m. at the Dee J. Kelly Alumni & Visitors Center, 2820 Stadium Drive, on the TCU campus. Tickets are $20 each, which includes a full breakfast. A distinctive entrepreneurial spirit drives Peluso. She founded and ran the leading online last-minute travel website, Site59, which was acquired in March 2002 by Travelocity, a leading provider of consumer-direct travel services for the leisure and business traveler. As senior vice president of product strategy and distribution, Peluso launched Travelocity's innovative merchant hotel product and oversaw the build-out of the packaging engine TotalTripSM. She was named president and chief executive officer of Travelocity in December 2003.

In 2004, The Wall Street Journal ranked Peluso #4 on its "50 Women to Watch" list, while Fast Company Magazine named her in the "Fast 50," which recognizes 50 leaders, innovators and technology pioneers. She was awarded the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2002, and was named the 2001 Technology Person of the Year by Travel Agent Magazine, which also has cited her as a Rising Star and one of the Most Powerful Women in Travel on several occasions.
