Six scholarships will be announced at the
2008 TCU Texas Youth Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, February 11

The Neeley School of Business will honor 24 Texas high school entrepreneurs for their success in business at the 6th annual TCU Texas Youth Entrepreneur of the Year Awards Banquet, February 11, 5:30 pm, at the Dee J. Kelly Alumni & Visitors Center on the TCU campus. These students run businesses ranging from powerwashing to jewelry design to full-service advertising agencies. (A complete list of names, high schools, cities and businesses is below.)

The Neeley Entrepreneurship Center will host TCU Young Entrepreneur Days, February 10-11, 2008, bringing Texas' most impressive high school entrepreneurs to Fort Worth. While here, the 24 finalists will consult with successful entrepreneurs, learn about TCU's award-winning entrepreneurship program and experience college life. The students will be interviewed by a panel of judges who select the six award recipients. The Grand Award winner receives a $5,000 scholarship. The other five award winners receive $1,000 scholarships. The scholarships are doubled for those who attend TCU.

"At Neeley, we nurture the entrepreneurial spirit in Texas youths because we know what a vital force entrepreneurship is to the economy, and what it means to these students to realize their dreams of independent success," said David Minor, director of the Neeley Entrepreneurship Center. "These annual scholarship awards allow us to support them as they go on to college to hone their business skills and broaden their knowledge and impact."
