In a Times Higher Education article, “Student-Consultants: Cut-Price Advice from Campuses,” writer Jon Marcus turned to TCU’s Neeley & Associates MBA consulting as an example of how clients are benefiting from students’ business insights, and how students utilize the opportunity to impress potential employers.

Dave Boissevain, senior director of sales strategy and planning for PepsiCo’s Frito-Lay division, told Times that his experience with hiring Neeley & Associates has resulted in valuable business insights. He also told the publication that PepsiCo has hired several students as interns and at least one as a full-time employee.

Ed Riefenstahl, director or experiential learning at TCU’s Neeley School of Business, said that the students learn the importance of client relationships, which they will use for the rest of their careers.

Riefenstahl told Times that the trend of hiring graduate business students as consultants is growing and would benefit other universities.
