PepsiCo is one of DFW’s most successful companies, with a complementary food and beverage portfolio that includes 22 brands that generated more than $1 billion in estimated annual retail sales in 2015.

PepsiCo is also one of the top supporters of the TCU Neeley School of Business through partnerships, programs, board stewardship and hiring graduates.

That makes it the perfect choice for TCU Neeley’s Business of the Year award, bestowed on a business, either alumni-owned or having TCU alumni in executive leadership roles, with shared values and a commitment to supporting TCU through employment, investment and volunteer participation.

“Envision a company that shares the insight and experience of top management leaders on TCU boards and committees. Envision a company that actively supports and attends programs for students that deepen the academic curriculum at TCU. Envision a company to continually hires TCU Neeley graduates and promotes deserving alumni to top positions. That company is PepsiCo,” said O. Homer Erekson as he presented the award to Frito-Lay CEO Vivek Sankaran.

Sankaran was on campus to participate in TCU Neeley’s C-Level Confidential, a special event for select TCU MBA students to meet in an intimate setting for dinner and conversations with DFW CEOs, to learn from their experience, challenges and triumphs.

PepsiCo leaders serve TCU in many capacities. Roger King BS ’63, retired senior vice president of human resources for PepsiCo, served on the TCU Board of Trustees for several decades. Ron Parker BA ’76 and Nick Gianchino BBA ’77, both retired senior vice presidents, currently serve on both the TCU Board of Trustees and the TCU Neeley International Board of Visitors.

Ralph Goedderz, vice president of finance for PepsiCo, and Dave Boissevain, senior director of retail strategy and planning for Frito-Lay, are instrumental in supporting, attending and judging the annual PepsiCo Invitational MBA Business Case Competition held at TCU, which awards thousands of cash prizes to top MBA students across the country.

PepsiCo began in 1965 with the merger of Pepsi-Cola and Frito-Lay. Today, it is a global food and beverage leader. PepsiCo products are sold in more than 200 countries and territories. Headquartered in Dallas-Fort Worth, PepsiCo employs more than 250,000 people around the world. PepsiCo has been recognized for leadership and performance, diversity and inclusion, environmental stewardship, and supporting the communities where we live and work.
