Welcome New Faculty

Meet the newest faculty members at the TCU Neeley School of Business who lead our students in the classroom and help our business partners with important research.

Business is the top degree at TCU, as it is at colleges across the nation. That means more professors are needed to lead our students in the latest thinking, insights, skills and research. We welcome nine new professors to add even more depth and breadth to our undergraduate, graduate and executive education programs.   

Minakshi Trivedi
Professor and Chair, Department of Marketing
Dr. Trivedi’s expertise covers the empirical analysis of retailing issues and consumption behavior, especially the impact of social media and online channels on consumer behavior. Her research has been published in prestigious journals including Journal of Marketing Research, Marketing Science, Management Science, Journal of Retailing and Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science. She has received several accolades for her research, including the Fulbright Research Scholar Award in 2014 for “Social Media: A Game Changer.” She is on the editorial advisory board of several academic journals including the Journal of Retailing. Dr. Trivedi comes to TCU Neeley after serving as professor of marketing and co-director of the Center for Relationship Marketing at SUNY Buffalo. She holds a PhD in Management Science from the University of Texas at Dallas, an MBA from BK School of Management in Ahmedabad, India, and an MSc from Delhi University in India.

Audra Boone
C. R. Williams Professor of Financial Services
Dr. Boone joins TCU Neeley from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, where she was senior financial economist and worked on policy and litigation issues. She previously served as a professor at Texas A&M University, University of Kansas and College of William and Mary. Her expertise and research covers mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and disclosure. She is an associate editor for Journal of Corporate Finance and previously was associate editor for Financial Management. Her research has appeared in Journal of Finance, Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis and others. She has been honored for both her research and teaching. Dr. Boone holds a PhD from Pennsylvania State University and BS from the University of Kansas.  

Karen Nelson
M. J. Neeley Professor of Accounting
Dr. Nelson’s areas of expertise are financial disclosure and securities regulation, earning quality, voluntary disclosure and the economic consequences of accounting choice. Her research has been published in The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Accounting Research and more, and co-authored a textbook, Financial Accounting for Undergraduates. She serves on the editorial board for The Accounting Review and is an ad hoc referee for dozens of journals. She is a member of the standing advisory group of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board. Dr. Nelson joins TCU Neeley from Rice University and previously taught at Stanford University and University of Michigan. She holds a PhD from the University of Michigan and BS from the University of Colorado.

Lance Bettencourt
Associate Professor of Professional Practice in Marketing
Dr. Bettencourt’s expertise focuses on helping companies align unique customer insights with innovative products and services. He was a professor with Arizona State and Indiana University before going into business as an innovation consultant and executive trainer for Strategyn and managing partner for Service 360 Partners and LIFT PhD. His research has been published in Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Retailing, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Harvard Business Review, MIT Sloan Management Review and California Management Review. He is the author of Service Innovation: How to go from Customer Need to Breakthrough Services. Dr. Bettencourt holds a PhD in marketing from Arizona State University and BS from California State University.  

Ed Ireland
Associate Professor of Professional Practice in Energy, Economics and Finance
Dr. Ireland’s 40-year oil and gas career includes serving as president of a natural gas pipeline and marketing company and an oil and gas exploration company. He is the founding executive director of the Barnett Shale Energy Education Council, a board member for the TCU Energy Institute and was co-founder of the Metroplex Natural Gas Vehicle Consortium. Prior to his corporate career, Dr. Ireland served as assistant professor and head of the economics department at Clemson University. He holds a PhD in economics from Texas Tech University and BS in economics from Midwestern State University, and did post-doctoral studies at the University of Chicago.

Julie Dahlquist
Associate Professor of Professional Practice in Finance
Dr. Dahlquist is a Chartered Market Technician who has won several awards for teaching. Her areas of expertise are financial markets and technical analysis. She has co-authored several books on technical analysis and written several articles for Active Trader. Her research has been published in Journal of Technical Analysis, Managerial Finance, Financial Analysts Journal, MTA Journal and Financial Practices and Education. Dr. Dahlquist joins TCU Neeley from the University of Texas at San Antonio and previously taught at St. Mary’s University. She holds a PhD in economics from Texas A&M University and BBA from the University of Louisiana at Monroe.

Christopher Boone
Associate Professor of Professional Practice in Supply Chain Management
A former decorated commander in the U.S. Air Force, Dr. Boone’s research centers on supply chain strategy and decision making with an emphasis on risks, closed-loop supply chains, technology and innovation. He has won awards for his research and been published in Journal of Supply Chain Management, Journal of Business Logistics, International Journal of Physical Distribution & Logistics Management, International Journal of Production Economics and more. He is certified in logistics and transportation by the American Society of Transportation and Logistics. He joins TCU Neeley from Georgia Southern University. Dr. Boone holds a PhD from Auburn University, master of logistics management from the Air Force Institute of Technology and BBA from Faulkner University. 

Marc Neri
Assistant Professor of Professional Practice in Accounting
A Chartered Global Management Accountant, Dr. Neri’s experience encompasses audit, tax, financial analysis, management accounting and reporting with corporations from Dallas to London over 20 years. He also has served as controller and CFO for several start-ups and growing organizations. His research focuses on professional judgment, ethics, management accounting and AIS. He was an AICPA accounting doctoral scholar and holds a PhD from the University of North Texas, a master of humanities from the University of Dallas and a BSc in physics from Durham University in England.

Anne Albrecht
Assistant Professor of Accounting
A Certified Public Accountant, Dr. Albercht’s research covers audit quality, earnings management, corporate governance and external influences on financial reporting. Her professional career includes being an auditor for Deloitte from 2009-2012. She holds a PhD in accounting from the University of Missouri where she was an accounting doctoral scholar, and earned her master of accounting and BS degrees from the University of Kansas.
