The Neeley School of Business at Texas Christian University hosted the inaugural Texas Higher Ed Media Summit created to connect university communication leaders and a distinguished roster of national, regional, and local journalists.

The event, produced in partnership with Wynne Communications, welcomed guests to the TCU campus for a one-day conference that served as a forum for Texas higher education communication professionals interested in developing key media relationships and creating new story pitch opportunities.

The format included three media panels, where the journalists detailed their coverage areas and how they preferred to connect with communication and public relations professionals. Each media panel was followed by a structured, meet-and-greet networking time built in specifically for growing those relationships and making story pitches.

The reporters, editors and producers in attendance represented a broad range of news agencies - CNN, ProPublica, Yahoo News, Inside Higher Ed, Fox News, USA Today, Fortune, The Dallas Morning News, NBC – DFW (KXAS-TV), WFAA-TV (ABC-affiliate), Sports Business Journal and more.

The afternoon agenda featured a high-level deans’ panel with the TCU Neeley John V. Roach Dean Craig Crossland, Southern Methodist University Cox School of Business Dean Todd Milbourn, Texas A&M University College of Engineering Vice Chancellor and Dean Robert Bishop and Baylor University School of Engineering and Computer Science Dean Daniel Pack.
