Marshall Newhouse ’10 (EMBA ’25) has spent the football season analyzing TCU games from the broadcast booth as a member of the Horned Frogs Sports Network. He’s gone from being a standout TCU football athlete to NFL All-American and later returned to campus as a business student in the Executive MBA program.
Newhouse’s story is one of adaptability and lifelong learning.
Reflecting on the season, he shared insights from his experience. In his broadcast role, Newhouse applies his on-field expertise to provide unique analysis for fans. Working alongside veteran announcer and “voice of the Horned Frogs” Brian Estridge, he enjoys translating years of NFL experience into commentary that is both engaging and insightful.
“It’s a full-circle moment,” Newhouse said. “I remember listening to Brian on the call when I was a player. Now, being part of that broadcast team is exciting, educational, and a lot of fun.”
After his professional NFL career, Newhouse became a serial entrepreneur and credits the Neeley School of Business Executive MBA program for preparing him to navigate new pathways.
“The EMBA was challenging in all the right ways,” Newhouse said. “It pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me think differently. The cohort experience, learning alongside classmates from diverse backgrounds, really added to my career journey.”
Through the program’s rigorous coursework and leadership acumen, Newhouse gained a fresh perspective on progress and career growth.
“Starting something new after football and earning my MBA has been incredibly rewarding,” he said. “The path isn’t always straight, but every experience builds toward the next opportunity.”
Newhouse hopes his journey demonstrates the value of adaptability and pursuing opportunities beyond the familiar.
“I want students and athletes to see that there’s a lot of opportunity after this phase of life [in college],” he said. “Even if your path changes, every experience helps you grow. Being open to new opportunities is key.”
Mentorship has played a pivotal role in his development — from coaches and peers to family members. “Following your curiosity and staying committed to growth has been the biggest lesson I’ve learned,” he said.
For Newhouse, returning to TCU — in the classroom and on the airwaves — has been deeply meaningful.
“TCU remains a very special place,” he said. “With the new chancellor [Daniel W. Pullin] and all the growth, it continues to feel like home. I’m incredibly lucky to call it that.”
Marshall Newhouse’s story illustrates how a Neeley education can help alumni navigate career transitions, embrace new challenges, and remain connected to the TCU community.
