Igus Motion Plastics: iLead@TCU Mini-MBA Custom Program

igus® motion plastics is a German manufacturer and distributor of technical products made of high-performance plastics, including plastic plain bearings, flexible cables, energy chains, connectors, robotic components, 3D-printed products and ball bearings. A truly innovative organization, igus has over 3500 employees, operates in 31 locations with 50 distributors represented in over 80 countries and has reached well over a billion dollars in sales in 2023.

The TCU and igus relationship began in 1978 when now Chairman, Frank Blasé, began his MBA journey with the Neeley School of Business. Graduating in 1981, Frank later joined the Neeley Board of Advisors and in 2020, CEO of igus international, Artur Peplinski, reconnected with TCU Neeley Executive Education to partner in creating a Mini-MBA program for their high-potential employees.

In March of 2023, over the course of three-weeks, 30 igus employees from around the world gathered in Fort Worth, TX on TCU’s campus to participate in an intensive and innovative executive learning opportunity called iLead@TCU. With topics like Leading Business Transformations, Strategic Thinking, Adaptive Leadership, Change Leadership, Data Analytics and Financial Analytics, TCU brought in both the Executive MBA faculty, rated #1 in the world by the Economist, as well a leading-edge practitioners and business experts from around the country to teach in the program.

“My favorite part of this whole three-week TCU program is something that I didn’t really expect,” said John Barker, ReadyChain Product Manager for igus and iLead@TCU program participant. “The connections I’ve been able to make with colleagues from around the world and had access to colleagues [that] I never would’ve had a chance to.”

Open Enrollment Testimonials

“It was an excellent opportunity to find so many resources to help me build on my executive presence.  It was nice to blend academic and corporate leaders.“

Billie Paschal, Simulation Education Program Manager, UNT Health Science Center, Executive Presence Program Participant

"What surprised me the most about this program is the involvement of the professors with the students. I enjoyed knowing that every professor really cared about my success in this program."

Karla Toutlian, Emerging Leader Participant

“I learned more in seven hours (tangible, valuable skills) than I have in some semester-long courses. The topic, pace and materials exceeded my expectations. Would highly recommend to any leader as a great way to bring ideas to fruition through selling them to others.“

2023 Executive Storytelling participant

"[The instructor] builds the foundation and then layers each step of the process in a way that you understand why the presentation style works, how to build it effectively, and how to prepare so that you deliver it in a way that persuades and calls your audience to action.

Bobbie Bratton, Clinical Executive at The University of North Texas Health Science Center And Storytelling for Influence Program Participant

“The course had a nice balance of traditional instruction with group engagement and peer feedback. Overall, it was an excellent experience, and it was great to meet and learn from everyone!”

Nick Polidore, Executive Presence Program Participant

“The TCU Adaptive Leader Certificate Program was a worthy investment in both time and money. The weekly discussions were both relevant and engaging. The most valuable part of the program was the opportunity to learn from other local business leaders going through the same challenges in various industries around the Metroplex.”

Greg Malter, Branch Manager – Dallas/Fort Worth, Expeditor International of WA Inc.

"This storytelling education was timely, informative, and inspiring! This training illuminated my constant presentation preparation struggle. Addressing audience objections with known/failed solutions pro-actively cultivates optimum engagement when sharing ideas. This method takes practice, and I will apply my new knowledge to future presentations, projects, and innovations!"

John Sims, Director at The University of North Texas Health Science Center And Storytelling for Influence Program Participant

“The Healthcare Leadership Program provides an amazing opportunity for physicians to learn the skills they need to engage in the complex and rapidly changing landscape of healthcare. Physicians need to engage in efforts to bring about change for our patients, our healthcare systems and ourselves and this class gives us the skills we need to effectively do so.”

Justin Smith, MD, Pediatrician and Director of Primary Care Innovation, Cook Children's

“It was a great two days of learning and insights, which were not included during my MBA program. I strongly recommend that every leader take this course to learn and develop the authenticity and empathy skills needed for positive influence in our world today.”

Werner Yzelman, Executive Presence Program Participant

“I’m an attorney in non-profit leadership and would recommend this course to anyone without a financial background who wants to gain greater acumen when discussing their organization’s finances. The information shared hit the intersection of practical and comprehensive – I feel like a veil was lifted. And I cannot say enough about Dr. Cobb – who went so far as to agree to an extra, virtual tutoring session with me to make sure I nailed debt service coverage ratios. She gave of her time and her brilliance to make sure I was better-equipped in my role to secure resources for students from low income circumstances. I cannot thank her enough or you all for hosting this course!”

Aisha Gayle Turner, IDEA Public Schools, Finance for Non-Financial Professionals Participant

I’ve participated in multiple training seminars throughout the country and I must admit – [TCU was] above par with amenities and learning content. I can’t emphasize enough my appreciation for Dr. Kosnik. Her expertise in the subject matter and her ability to adapt to classroom settings on the fly are not traits exhibited by all teaching professionals. I truly wish I had more professors like her while obtaining my degree! I look very forward to exploring additional executive learning opportunities with TCU in the near future.
